The player who does not wants to show their name outside their party or random player that they get matched with, can use these Valorant settings to do so. Here we’ll see that via which setting you can hide your name in Valorant and how to turn it on.
It means when you turn on these settings the players outside your party can not see your name. It will show player 1,2,3,4,5 instead of your name. But if the player is in a party or at the lobby the name will be shown to other players.

Reason to Hide Your Name
The reason may be different from player to player, but many players are hiding their names due to stream sniping. The opponent player might know the streamer who is playing as his opponent and if he is a streamer then the opponent can stream snipe him. To avoid it the player can use the “Hide Name” setting in Valorant. There may be other reasons as well.
How to hide your name in Valorant ?
The player can hide their name using the privacy settings in Valorant, which allow the player to be anonymous for other players except for the party.
To hide your name in Valorant follow these steps:
- Open the game and go to game “settings”.
- Click on “general”, scroll down to the “privacy section”.
- Now you’ll see an option of “Hide my name from players outside my party”. Turn on this option to hide your name, turn it off if you wanna show your name to everyone.
Note – Your name will still be visible for the player who is at your party.

What Will Happen After Turning On This Setting?
Turning on the Hide my name from players outside my party will make your name invisible in matches and you will see your name as me in the dashboard. And when you enter a match it will show your name as player 1-5 according to your place in the list.
And whatever character you will choose to play the name will get changed to the character name. Like if you will choose Jett then your name will show as Jett to the players in your team and you will see it as ‘me’ in the dashboard.
What Will Use Generic Names for Player Outside My Party Option Will Do?
If the player turns on “Use Generic Names for Player Outside My Party”, it will show the player name as player 1, player 2 and so on based on the player rank while choosing the agent.
