To mark the location through walls what you have to do is just be behind a wall or any other obstacle, now point out your crosshair where you are expecting the enemy. Now press the universal mark button in the game and the location of the enemy has been marked without the player being exposed.
This feature is most useful in cases where you are surrounded by many sides/angles. You can mark and tell your teammates to aware or attack the respective side.
