Data restriction allows users to restrict any application from using their mobile data/wifi. This feature has been introduced in the Android operating system. Since MIUI is also an android system UI, so it had also got it.
Use of Data Usage Restriction on Android
Data restriction can be useful whenever you don’t want any application to use your mobile/wifi data network. This option will prohibit the particular application not to use the data/internet. Hence, any notification or popup from the application will also be restricted. Which results in no disturbance in your workflow.
People use Data usage restriction mostly for their social media applications. Like avoiding distractions during their studies or other work while they are fully able to use other applications.
How to Restrict Data Usage for Any App on MIUI
To restrict any application from using data in the background or foreground. This is possible without any third-party application.
Long tap on the app icon.
Go to app info.
Click on restrict data usage under the permission section.
A popup appears to untick the Mobile data or wifi that you want to prohibit.
Now the application won’t be able to use the internet both in the background as well as in the foreground.
