The delay might be very minor or of a few seconds but it makes the user irritated and also does not seem to be good.
How to Fix App Drawer Appearing With Delay on MIUI

What we do to fix the issue is that we will set a different theme on our phone using the MIUI them store which will fix the late or delayed opening of the app drawer.
Open the theme section on your phone, and choose any of the themes available there. Now apply the theme and you are good to go. The error will get fixed automatically after applying the theme. But if you again switch back to the previous classic or default them then the bug might come back so keep that in mind instead you can still try to revert it.
