Railwire is one of the trusted broadband connection provider in India controlled and managed by RailTel Corporation of India. Now recently I also tried to get the connection from Railwire for my personal use, but the experience is not that great that i am going to share in this blog.
So on the 25 Feb evening I first visited the Railwire official website and applied for new connection and waited that I will get a call for next process, but nothing happens I got no response from Railwire.
Again I applied for new connect after 5 days, same I got no response no call though the website shows feasible in its query section when I entered my Id that i got after applying for new connection.
After no response, I called on the customer care for the connection and the lady told me that they will connect me to the local vender and share my information to them and the local vendor will call me for the next process.
But that also didn't happened, and I asked the customer care 2 times for the connection but no response at all. I got no local vendor call for installation.
Now since I wanted the broadband connection genuinely I found out the local vendor's number from one my friend which had the Railwire broadband connection.
Now I called the local vendor and asked him that I want broadband connection on my home for my personal use, he told me that he will come tomorrow, that day he was away from my location.
The next day he came, but the vendor didn't came or called me for any information, then again after that day i called him the next day and asked that he didn't came or called me, so he immidiately told me that he is on the way and will come to my location in few time, i waited but he didnt came.
The next day i called him again and this time he says he is coming and really came to my location, and asked few things like why i need the connection i told him for personal use and so.
Then he started doing some calculations as: will he be able to give me the new connection or not, in my area since he already given few connections to other people like offices and shop, and then he says yes he can give me the connection and started to register me for the new connection and completed the registration process.
Then I got the confirmation call and username and password from railwire. And the local vendor told me that the installation will be done today, the time then was about 12PM noon.
I thought its good that the installation will be done by evening, but that did not happened, no one came not called that the installation will be delayed or when the installation will be done.
The next day I called the vendor for the installation and he says that its noon and its too much sunlight and heat so the installation will be done by evening, but same no one came not the call, then before evening I called the vendor again to ask that will he come for the installation, and he didn't respond.
Okay so the next day i called and he said that his mans will come and will install today he also told that they were doing the fix somewhere and after that they will come. I waited, and the installation guys comes at 9:00 PM at night.
They came really and asked me where to install the router and other things like board connection. I told them and they began installing. They finished the work in about 30 min but they didnt brought the router or in my case i wanted a ethernet connection only, since i already had the router.
But they didn't even brought the media converter. After installing the fiber cable and patch cord. One guy even went to their office telling me that he will bring the router. But nope, he didnt. The installation is half done that day.
Later on the next day, the guys brought the media converter which converts the fiber to ethernet. There is a twist there I will tell later. He started to setup the connection with PPPOE, but the connection was not registering. Their boss told to do a recharge since it need to be recharged the connection I sent the money and he did the recharge i got the plan of 30 mbps 600 gb at 353 including gst.
But the connection was still not being setup by the PPPOE, during this the installation guy even got a call from the office. The boss told that the internet is not working for some of the other users now. No issue the installation guy and even the boss thought that the issue is may be something wrong with the fat box or somewhere which may happened while they were installing my connection.
He then told me that the connection will work in about 30 min and they left. But the connection didn't worked for even that whole day. I even called their office boss and he told me that he will look upon at his end and will start the connection. But nope the connection didn't worked.
The next day also the connection was not working i called the boss and he told me. That there is some issue with that area since other connections were also not working. He told me that they will fix it by the day.
But nope the connection still not worked, the next day I called him again and he told me that they were looking for the fault and will fix it soon. But nope the connection was not working at all.
The next day the connection was still not working. And during the whole time I was regularly checking and registering the PPPOE, and checking the wires and cables, but the connection was not all working.
Later after 5 days of the installation, the person came and asked me to see the device installed by its mans. I showed him and he check and removed the media converter and check on his mobile phone and said now the connections are working (other connections). So it turns out to be the fault of the media converter which was creating all the mess.
During their investigation, their other official from the top were told them that from a connection the signals are coming backwards which is making the internet to not work.
So, the boss that came removed the media converter and the internet worked then. Later he setup the PPPoe, and internet finally worked.
So this was the overall story of ny Railwire broadband connection. Though this was all messy experience, the connection once setup I didn't get any other issue the internet is working all good spees and ping is constant.
