What is It
All the applications that we use on our android phone have some main data folders or files stored inside the Android>data folder. These files or folders contain essential resources that are required to run the application efficiently. And while uninstalling/removing any app or game from your phone these files or folders also got removed.
But here is a simple trick via you can restrict or prohibit the uninstaller to not delete these files or folders. Below is the step-by-step guide on how to do it. The steps described below are for the Pubg Mobile game but you can also follow them for any other application or game as well.
How it Works
As noticed earlier, while uninstalling the application from your phone the uninstaller will also delete data files that are related to the respected application. But what if we made the uninstaller not to identify the data files. Mean what if we change the name of the folder that is related to the app. Then the uninstaller won’t be able to navigate and delete the data files. Yes, it will work. You can also try this at home.
What you have to it before uninstalling any application is identify the folder that is related to it means the data folder inside Android>Data folder.
For games, you will also need to identify the OBB folder inside the Android>obb folder.
Once you find the folder, change their name to something else. Like, if the original folder is com.google.in then change it to com.google.inn or com.googlee.in or anything else. Just make it different to trick the uninstaller.
How to Delete or Uninstall Pubg Mobile Without Losing Game Data
First of all, if you want to know how it works then read the above part. Now before heading towards, here is how we will do it and how it works. So Pubg Mobile or Battleground Mobile India has two main data files stored on your android phone. The one is stored inside the Android>data folder and the other one is stored inside the Android>obb folder. The folder name at both the location is “com.tencent.ig” for Pubg Mobile and “com.pubg.imobile” for BGMI. So, to trick the uninstaller not to delete these folders we will change the folder names before uninstalling the game.
Step-by-step :
Before uninstalling the game, open file manager. And go to the Android folder. If you are unable to access the android folder on your file manager then please install a third party file manager from the playstore (recomended : ZArchiver).
Now go to the data folder and rename the com.tencent.ig for Pubg Mobile and com.pubg.imobile for Battlegrounds Mobile India.
After renaming the file to something else you can now uninstall the game.
